Smoothie bowl, another way to enjoy your favorite drink

alt_smoothiebowl

Smoothies have been more than just a trend for some time now. This drink is here to stay and will remain forever more on the menus of hotels, restaurants and bars, on supermarket shelves and, especially, in our homes. For many people, smoothies have become one of their favourite drinks – because of how they taste, their freshness, the fact that they are easy to make and for their many virtues. A sign that this fruit combination has become an established feature of our lives is that it has already gone through a number of evolutions. New versions are appearing every day. One of the most successful is the smoothie bowl. And that comes as no surprise to us! Because it’s really good.

A different way of enjoying a smoothie

The main difference between the classic version that everyone knows and this one is that the classic is a drink whereas the other version is served in a bowl, eaten with a spoon and has different toppings on it – which, in addition to adding flavour, make it a very attractive dish.

Thickness is key

It is very important that the fruit combination in this more modern version is thicker, so that the toppings stay in place and don’t sink in. To achieve this, you add less liquid than usual: coconut water, juices, vegetable drinks… as you know, our recommendation is to use apple juice. In this Life Smoothies blog post you’ll learn how to make a smoothie very simply. Another option to achieve a thicker base is to add fruits or vegetables that add creaminess – such as strawberries, bananas, raspberries and carrots… There are plenty of  options.

What can I crown my smoothie bowl with?

As we’ve already mentioned before, there are certain ingredients that can help you get the most from your smoothie. They make ideal companions that will always go very well together. For this type of on-trend smoothie, you could use toppings such as the following:

  • Seeds

Linseed, chia, poppy… Think of which you like best and add them.

alt_smoothiebowl

  • Fruit? Of course! Use your imagination.

Kiwi, pineapple, raspberry… Select fruit that goes well with your smoothie base, so that you end up with a coherent dish that has harmony between the products and flavours.

  • Dried fruit

Dates, raisins, apricots… Add just a small quantity, so as not to add too many calories or make it too sweet.

  • Nuts

Walnuts, almonds, peanuts, pistachios…

When making a smoothie bowl, there are no rules other than what we’ve already mentioned along with one other very important one that you always need to keep in mind: coherence! Think carefully about which toppings you use and in which quantities, so that it doesn’t end up being a jumble of things that don’t go well together.

Remember that you can always use Life Smoothies‘ fruit combinations as a base. You’ll find these on our website. For more information, please don’t hesitate to contact us:  +971 52 392 1761 / [email protected]. We’ll be delighted to help you!

Healthy intentions for starting the year

Healthy intentions for starting the year
Healthy intentions for starting the year.

At the start of each new year we make a lot of promises for living a happier and healthier life and 2020 will be no different. Below there are some suggestions that you can realistically achieve and not give up halfway, even if you do not keep them all. Take a good look.

healthy smoothie

  • Start the day with more energy.

If you are one of those people who find it hard to get out of bed and face the day, in the new year you should try to sleep better, to do some sport at the end or at the start of the day and to have a glass of vitality every morning. This you can do by having a breakfast smoothie like our “green machine”, based on spinach, mango, pineapple, broccoli and banana. The energy combination you need to face the day.

  • Don’t nibble between meals.

Sometimes we get the munchies during the day and usually satisfy them with not-very-healthy, high-calorie foods. To keep this promise, we suggest you go to work with a flask or a cup containing one of our smoothies and combine it with nuts or healthy snacks.

This intention might be simple but including more fruit and vegetables in your diet is usually something that keeps being put off for a future date. If you find it hard and couldn’t be bothered to wash and peel, you could consume them in smoothie form. Our fruit and vegetables are ready to go in the blender and be eaten with a milk or yogurt base.

If you find it hard to drink the recommended daily amount of water, drinking smoothies is a good way both to keep hydrated and to ensure a simple and tasty energy intake.

Even if you do not diet cleanse every day, a little detox every so often is fantastic for your body. If you like smoothies, any of ours offers the perfect option for effortlessly eliminating toxins and cleansing you inside.

Although some intentions for 2020 will surely have been left off this list, we think that if you stick to these five, you will enjoy a year full of energy and be able to deal with any obstacle that you come up against.

Healthy intentions for starting the year.

Smoothies with iced tea: a delicious, healthy choice

SMOOTHIES WITH ICED TEA

Imagine combining fruits, vegetables, nuts and all the properties of tea. In this post we would like to tell you about this original idea that you might like to give a go when making your smoothies, also known as smooteas. 😉

At LifeSmoothies we always recommend making smoothies by adding our frozen fruit sachet to the blender together with 250 ml of water or apple juice. Apple juice is perfect to give you that neutral touch and to enjoy all the flavour that our fruits have to offer.

But apart from apple juice, other options that can also be great for the smoothie of your choice are other types of fruit juices, coconut water, vegetable drinks or, as we will talk about, tea. Remember that you can add more or less to play with the texture. This way, you can make it thicker or thinner and add the toppings you want without them sinking.

What teas can you try in your smoothies?

There are teas with very distinctive flavours that you may like more or less. We recommend starting with teas with mild flavours or even fruit flavours, regardless of their properties.

A good choice is white tea, also known as beauty tea, as it has a mild, sweet and floral taste. Its colour is also pale and velvety, and it has become very popular among tea lovers. It is made in a way so that it is minimally processed, so we can enjoy all its benefits whilst also tasting delicious. It is also the variety of tea with the highest antioxidant content, so it’s all good for you!

Continuing with mild flavours, green tea is perhaps the next in terms of subtle flavour. This tea is one of the most popular and is perfect if you’re someone who drinks their smoothie in the morning, as green tea is a great substitute for coffee and to start the day in top form. 😊 It is also very rich in antioxidants, just like our fruits, and lowers the level of bad cholesterol.

For the more daring, red tea is a good option if you’re looking for more intense flavours. It is made using a slow fermentation, which is what makes it a very distinctive tea in terms of aroma, colour and taste. This tea is a great diuretic and helps to burn fat, so it’s also a very healthy combination to keep taking care of yourself with smoothies.

And finally, you can also try our smoothies with different fruit teas. There is now a wide variety of options available. For example, if your favourite smoothie is our Mango Paradise, you can try making it with a mango-flavoured tea, which will enhance its main ingredient. There is also a berry tea that would go perfectly with our Raspberry Love and enhance the flavour of the raspberries and blueberries.

We recommend making the tea in the evening, and when it cools, keep it in the fridge until the next day. This way it will be nice and fresh when it is time to drink it.

With this smoothie idea you’ll still get a refreshing drink that we love so much at this time of the year. They will also help you manage your weight as they provide a lot of antioxidants, which, together with the power of the fruit, will make your smoothie the perfect healthy option to continue taking care of yourself this summer.

Raspberry Love, the smoothie that all palates love

Raspberry Love, the smoothie that all palates love

There is a clear focus in this post: our smoothie Raspberry Love. We would like to tell you about this smoothie that is as pleasing for its colour as it is for its flavour. When we say that all palates love this smoothie, it is because it combines several flavours that give it a great balance: not quite sweet and not quite bitter. It is the perfect combination.

If you haven’t tried it yet, after reading what we’ll share below, it is sure to become your favourite.

Raspberry Love: a blend of flavours

Our Raspberry Love smoothie combines several flavours. It is made for when you fancy something sweet, but not too sweet. This is achieved thanks to the raspberry, which, although its taste tends to be sweet and sour, can be eaten raw without being too bitter. This velvety fruit also gives it an exquisite aroma, which your sense of smell will love.

Blueberries are also another fruit you can find in our Raspberry Love. These berries, which belong to the forest fruits family, are dark blue in colour, which gives the smoothie its unique colour. Like all the fruit in our products, the blueberries are picked and frozen when they are perfectly ripe, which, together with our preparation tips, helps the fruit retain its vitamins and benefits.

In complete contrast, is the banana flavour in this smoothie. This is the fruit that adds that sweet touch to our smoothie. Plus, its smooth and soft texture makes it easy to make your smoothie bowl. Don’t be put off by the amount of sugar in a banana. They are good sugars, and we don’t let the fruit fully ripen, avoiding a high sugar content. The banana is frozen at the perfect time to maintain high levels of antioxidants and its high fibre content.

When to drink your Raspberry Love

All of our smoothies are made to be enjoyed at any time of the day. But if we had to pick a time, we would pick the evening, after a day at the beach, for example. It will help to cool you down and hydrate you after being in the sun.

But it’s also a perfect smoothie to enjoy for an evening at the cinema in any of the 6 Reels Cinemas in Dubai. In a nutshell, it is a smoothie to complement any plans you may have this summer.

Did you know that its flavours can also “teleport” you? Discover the destinations and how you can travel through our smoothies.

Breakfast Smoothies with the Best Toppings

Breakfast-Smoothies-with-the-Best-Toppings

For many people summer is synonymous with holidays, having fun, travelling and, above all, having more time for ourselves. This means getting better rest and sleep to wake up feeling great, because summer is also a great time to take care of yourself.

With the non-stop pace of the rest of the year, we are often rushing from one place to another. That is why in summer it is important to make time for ourselves. At  Life Smoothies one of our favourite things to do is enjoying longer breakfasts, this small pleasure that feeds and nourishes us from the inside to start the day in the best way possible.

In this post we give you great breakfast options that will keep you going strong throughout your holidays, and who knows, maybe you can keep these good habits going and enjoy a delicious and healthy breakfast all year round 😉

Shredded coconut for your Caribbean Kiss

We absolutely love coconut in all its variations, for example, natural or dehydrated; and it doesn’t have to be shredded, it can also be sliced. It will add a special touch to your breakfast because it is also a food to take your time and chew over. It is packed full of nutrients, vitamins and minerals. It also contains lauric acid, which helps to reduce bad cholesterol and increase good cholesterol.

Chia seeds, perfect for your breakfast with Mango Paradise

These seeds will not only add a contrast of colour to your morning smoothie, but they will also add great texture. This topping is a natural source of fibre, omega-3 fatty acids and contains many other nutrients such as protein, vitamins and minerals. Another great advantage is that it is very filling, which makes it the perfect breakfast topping. Due to its high fibre content, we recommend that you vary how much you eat of it and start with only about 25g, about two tablespoons.

Oats, a super cereal for your Raspberry Love

We love the combo of oats and banana because this cereal is highly beneficial, but it does have a very subtle flavour. If you want the oatmeal to be softer, we recommend leaving it in the fridge overnight with a little vegetable drink, for example, so that it absorbs the liquid and, in turn, releases starches. This will give it a creamier texture and make it a very complete breakfast without losing any of the sweetness of the natural fruit in our Raspberry Love.

And enjoying them cold makes them perfect for this time of the year. You can add cream to your Strawberry & White Chocolate and shavings or grated dark chocolate to your Cherry & Chocolate. Another good idea is to add cream and caramel syrup to complete your Banana & Salted Caramel, even coloured sprinkles to make it more fun. Finally, if you’ve taken note of all this you should know that any of these toppings are perfect for our Vanilla shake, it’s super versatile!
